Our company puts the client at the heart of every course, we meet the needs of the company and individual.  Understanding blocks to learning makes it possible to overcome them: we use drama and humour.  As they say in I.T, training there are always at least three ways to do anything: we fit the course to the needs of the company.

Why Canny Craic for your training needs?

Beth is the Quality Manager at a work based training company. Andy used to be a time served electrician but is now a trainer/tutor teaching PAT testing at the ABC Ltd training provider

Beth:
“You are going on a training course”

Andy:
“Yawn. Will it be death by PowerPoint again?”

Beth:
“No, it’s Canny Craic, they never use PowerPoint.”

Perceptions of training include boring, yawn inducing days that waste time and money, but have to be got through.  We offer a different approach to engage your delegates, by using professional actors to play out scenes with humour, drama and realism everyone is engaged, entertained and learning without realising it.  The delegates can relax, they are not waiting with dread for their turn.  They are then free to focus on the issues, message and theme.

Beth:
“You are going to be involved in training with role play”

Andy:
“Oh no!”

Beth:
“Don’t worry they have actors to do that for you.”

However, delegates are not let off the hook so easily; by facilitation the discussion continues and debates are encouraged.  We stop short of arguments but ask every delegate to listen to others and contribute when they have something to say.  The facilitator’s role is then to encourage useful discourse, help them to expand on ideas and come to conclusions or share best practice.  If it is entertaining that is a bonus – we all learn more when enjoying ourselves.

Andy:
“Will they have any idea what our job entails. I bet they are just the same old ‘consultants’ reading from a handout.”

Beth:
“No, it’s really active and enjoyable using people who know their stuff.”

The world is full of training companies with ‘consultants’ who can repeat things parrot fashion: our strengths are in offering both ‘off the shelf’ prepared training and bespoke scripts that can inform, but also change attitudes and raise awareness.

We listen to the client’s needs and produce a range of training activities appropriate to the sector, audience and numbers.  Ken and Val are not experts in every field, hard to believe, but feel that each topic or field needs a person with experience and knowledge to give the best training and information.  We are not necessarily the one for that course but we know a man/woman who is, and they will be the lead.

We offer training room based sessions for smaller groups.

We offer forum type training with delegates sitting in groups, discussing what they have just witnessed with the actors still in role exchanging views with them about the situation and solutions. Facilitators monitor and guide them where necessary.
We offer a larger conference type training using a stage for a large number of delegates who may stay seated or if the facilities are available then split into focus groups.

You deserve the best experts, trainers and facilitators, and that is what we offer you.
